Pirate DLC Class Guide

What Pirate is

Pirate is a paid DLC class for Task Bar of Ragnalis. On Steam it appears as PIRATES (CLASS) and inside the Pirate & Overlord Class Pack. Jagernaut Games’ base client remains free-to-play with four base classes—Templar Knight, Priest, Witch, and Gunner. Pirate expands the roster fantasy inside the same party of three; it does not add a fourth combat seat and it does not replace learning the idle loop.

Purchase evaluation belongs beside Pirate & Overlord, the DLC hub, and the DLC Cost Checker. This page focuses on how to field Pirate once you own it, and when not to buy it yet.

Buy after a free baseline

Launch reception was harsh. Soft early clears, class-locked loot, UI friction, and progression bugs dominated feedback. Pirate will not automatically erase those problems. Complete a free baseline first:

  1. Readable client via Taskbar Setup
  2. Working loop from How to Play
  3. A real free trio plan from Party Builds
  4. Stacking literacy from How to Stack Items
  5. Awareness of v1.0.1 / v1.0.2 fixes on Patch Notes

If chests still fail to open or EXP stops, fix that with Troubleshooting before opening your wallet.

How Pirate fits a party of three

You still choose three seats with frontline and backline logic. Pirate competes with free classes for those seats. Practical placements:

  • Flex seat: Keep Templar Knight / Priest / Witch or Gunner farming, learn Pirate gear locks, then promote Pirate when stacks exist.
  • Clearer seat: Only after Pirate has legal weapons and finished nine-copy lines that outpace your free clearer.
  • Never: Empty three mediocre identities because a sale banner arrived.

Use the Party Planner and compare roles on the Tier List. Free class deep-dives: Templar Knight, Priest, Witch, Gunner. Sister DLC page: Overlord.

Gear, eight slots, and locks

Pirate changes which class-locked drops suddenly matter. That can feel amazing when chests finally produce wearable pieces—and chaotic if you unlock Pirate but never field it. Rules:

  • Fill eight equipment slots with Pirate-legal gear when Pirate is on the team
  • Stack nine matching copies before panic-selling near-complete lines (Tier Up)
  • Respect random skills; two Pirate weapons with the same name are not equal (Random Skills)
  • Consider Storage Expansion only after you know which Pirate lines deserve to live

v1.0.1 included a DLC recognition fix. If Pirate does not appear after purchase, verify ownership, restart the client, and follow Troubleshooting before assuming the store failed permanently.

Systems Pirate does not change

Pirate does not invent Task Bar Hero cubes or runes. It does not enable Steam Market trading—Market support remains indefinitely postponed for legal review. It does not remove the need for offline-aware play or for keeping the client updated through chest/EXP/stuck fixes in v1.0.2. Soft bans from overly strict anti-cheat timezone checks were a patch topic, not a Pirate feature.

The Reset button in Settings still means starting over if you change character. Do not Reset to “activate DLC.”

When Pirate is worth buying

Consider Pirate when:

  • The free idle loop already earns taskbar time
  • Chests keep dropping Pirate-tagged loot you want to wear
  • You want roster variety inside three seats after reading Pirate & Overlord
  • Pack math beats buying singles (verify live prices)

Delay Pirate when:

  • Free clearer stacks are unfinished
  • UI text is still unreadable
  • You are stuck on bugs rather than balance
  • You hope Pirate will skip early progression homework from Early Progression

After-purchase checklist

  1. Confirm Pirate unlocks in a readable window.
  2. Decide which free seat Pirate replaces—and why.
  3. Rebuild stack priorities for the new locks.
  4. Run a focused AFK block and confirm chests still flow.
  5. Re-check Beat Early Waves if clear speed collapsed after a greedy swap.

Common mistakes

  • Buying Pirate mid-panic on Wave pressure
  • Fielding Pirate with zero legal gear while vendoring free-class stacks
  • Buying both Pirate and Overlord immediately without a seat plan
  • Confusing Market delay with missing Pirate progression
  • Importing other-game pirate metas that mention systems Ragnalis does not have

Bottom line

Pirate is optional class fantasy for Task Bar of Ragnalis, sold as PIRATES (CLASS) and in class packs. Earn the free loop with Templar Knight, Priest, Witch, and Gunner first. Then seat Pirate with real stacks, legal eight-slot gear, and a honest Clear / Survive / Flex plan. Pay for fun you already proved—not for a patch-shaped hole in early progression.

FAQ
