Class Tier List

How to read this tier list

Task Bar of Ragnalis does not publish a fixed competitive ladder. This page ranks practical value for a free-to-play idle auto-battler with a party of three, using official class identities from Steam news plus launch and patch context.

Free base classes:

  • Templar Knight — frontline defender powered by Sigils
  • Priest — healer who turns Prayer into recovery/rescue
  • Witch — backline damage dealer built around Full Cast spells
  • Gunner — ranged attacker who marks and eliminates priority targets

DLC classes:

  • Pirate — paid PIRATES line
  • Overlord — paid OVERLOAD / Overlord line

Systems in scope: automatic combat, frontline/backline, eight equipment slots, nine-copy tier-ups, random skills, offline rewards. Market trading is indefinitely postponed. This is not a Task Bar Hero ranking—ignore cubes and runes.

Tiers mean “how useful this seat is for early and mid idle progress after v1.0.1 / v1.0.2,” not esports placement.

Ranking keys

Score a class by answering:

  1. Can it clear or protect early waves without constant babysitting?
  2. Can it wear the loot your chests actually drop?
  3. Does it create a clear job in a three-hero lineup?
  4. Is it free, or does it require Pirate / Overlord spend?
  5. Are you judging it on a client that includes the Gunner accuracy fix and chest/EXP repairs?

Pair this page with Party Builds, individual class guides, and the DLC hub.

S-tier free roles: clearers you can start today

Witch — S for free clear speed

Witch’s Full Cast backline identity makes it a default Seat 1 candidate when spell gear is flowing. Feed nine-copy weapon/card lines first. Details: Witch.

Gunner — S for free clear speed (with patch caveat)

Gunner’s mark-and-eliminate kit is equally valid Seat 1 material. Day-one “Gunner cannot hit” complaints must be re-tested after the v1.0.1 accuracy fix and the early-stage difficulty reductions on 1-1 to 1-3. Details: Gunner.

Practical clearer rules for both:

  • Finish one damage stack before splitting
  • Prefer consistent auto-damage skill rolls
  • Re-check class locks so you are not stacking loot nobody can equip

Stacking help: How to Stack Items, Tier Up, Stack Calculator.

A-tier free roles: keep the AFK loop alive

Templar Knight — A for frontline insurance

Sigil-powered defender. Usually Seat 2. Rises to S-value on maps where wipe loops cancel chests. Page: Templar Knight.

Priest — A for recovery and rescue

Prayer sustain keeps clearer seats alive. Often pairs with Templar Knight. Page: Priest.

Build anchors second, not first. A tank or healer with trash clearer support still loses time if waves never end. Use Beat Early Waves when early maps feel unfair.

B-tier / purchase-gated: Pirate and Overlord

Pirate — B until owned, situational A after stacks

Paid class. High fantasy ceiling, store wall in front. Strong after you decide the free loop is fun and you have legal Pirate gear. Weak as an emergency buy for soft early damage. Pages: Pirate, Pirate & Overlord.

Overlord (OVERLOAD) — B until owned, situational A after stacks

Same purchase discipline as Pirate. Rank it as a seat solver—clear, flex, or fantasy—never as a substitute for learning Random Skills. Page: Overlord.

v1.0.1’s DLC recognition fix matters if a paid class fails to appear after purchase—see Troubleshooting.

Launch and patch modifiers

  • Pre-1.0.1 Gunner takes: discount accuracy complaints recorded before the fix
  • v1.0.2 stability: if chests/EXP/maps fail, class tiers are irrelevant until you patch—Patch Notes
  • Soft bans: timezone anti-cheat false positives were a studio topic; not a reason to reroll every class
  • Reset button: Settings reset starts over; it is not a tier-list respec
  • Market delay: does not change combat tiers

Anti-tiers: what not to overvalue

  • Collection score: Owning Pirate and Overlord names does not raise clear speed by itself
  • Other-game meta: Task Bar Hero advice does not transfer
  • Equal gearing: Splitting every stack three ways often keeps everyone mid
  • Gold panic: Selling the eighth copy of a key weapon can delete your next tier-up
  • Bug denial: Calling Witch useless while the map is stuck is a diagnosis error

Example early rankings (free account)

  1. Witch or Gunner (whichever has better finished legal gear) — clearer
  2. Templar Knight — frontline
  3. Priest — sustain (or delay Seat 3 until stacks exist)

Once chests are stable, survival seats rise if denser maps kill AFK time; flex seats rise if class-locked piles demand Pirate or Overlord.

Honest limits

Jagernaut can patch drop tables, class feel, or DLC value after the July 30, 2026 launch. Roadmap items such as Cooking Buffs and Arcana Cards may shift the environment later; Market support stays postponed for now. This page stays useful if you keep using the ranking keys above instead of memorizing letter grades forever.

Promote the seat that restores chest flow. Demote the seat that only looks cool in the party screen. Ignore systems that belong to other taskbar games. Then lock a three-seat plan on Party Builds and feed it real stacks.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is this an official Jagernaut ranking?

No. It is a practical role ranking for idle progress based on official class identities, known systems, and launch-era patches.

Which free classes rank highest early?

Witch and Gunner as clearers, with Templar Knight and Priest as A-tier survival seats—see each class page for details.

Should I buy Pirate or Overlord to climb tiers?

Only after the free loop feels worth your time. Fix stacks and bugs first, then read [Pirate & Overlord](/dlc/pirate-overlord/).

Why mention v1.0.1 for Gunner?

v1.0.1 included a Gunner accuracy fix and easier early stages. Pre-patch complaints need a re-test—see [Gunner](/classes/gunner/).
